Patch 7.2: Transmogrification Sets Are Coming!
Transmogrification* allows players to collect weapons and armor in order to customize their appearance. With the launch of the Legion expansion, collecting has become even easier for those looking to stay on the cutting edge of Azerothian couture with the addition of the Appearances tab.
Patch 7.2 however, will help you take your collection just a little further by adding a new way to track your Transmogrication options with the addition of a Sets tab within the Appearances interface. You can quickly and easily scroll through the available sets for your class, see which items you've collected, and which you have not, for both available PvE and PvP sets. You’ll also be able to see how each set looks on your character without the need to preview each individual piece. It’s like having a magic mirror!
Mousing over individual items from a set that you haven’t collected will also indicate whether the item is a world drop, available from a vendor, or a boss drop as well as display other items that are using the same appearance.
The Transmogrification vendor will also have a new Sets tab which will display all of your collected sets. You can simply click on the set you want and it will apply the set appearance to your character without the need to select each item to create a set.
In patch 7.2: The Tomb of Sargeras, you’ll also be able to earn a variety of new Achievements such as “That’s So Last Millennium” for collecting the Tier 19 set from Nighthold.
*What is the Transmogrification System?
Transmogrification allows you to collect pieces of armor or weapons and use them to change the appearance of your equipped items. These items are automatically added to your collection when worn or when rewarded from quests and other activities. You can sell the item or disenchant it without losing the appearance or look of the item for use later. In the Collection Tab found in your navigation bar (shift-p), verify that the item is there prior to selling or disenchanting. Some items must be worn to add them to your wardrobe.
To make a change to your appearance, you’ll need to visit a Transmogrifier who are found in the capital cities. You’ll need to pay a small fee for their services each time you change your appearance.
While many items acan be transmogged there are some basic rules to keep in mind. Here are just a few:
- The character must be able to equip the items.
- Items must share the same armor type (examples: Plate for plate, cloth for cloth).
- Weapons must be the same weapon type (exceptions: guns, crossbows, or bows.
