5.3 Hotfixes: September 4
Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to the recently released World of Warcraft patch 5.3: Escalation. Hotfixes are updates we make on our end without requiring you to download a new patch. Some of the hotfixes below take effect the moment they were implemented, while others may require your realm to be restarted to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. We will continue to update this list as additional hotfixes are applied.

Items
- Salyin Battle Banner can no longer be used inside of raid instances. The item can still be used in regular dungeons and in non-instanced areas.

- Death to the Broodmother: Desperiona should no longer get stuck while approaching the player, allowing the quest to be completed.

- Mastery: Illuminated Healing's damage absorption shield should now properly interact with Battle Fatigue on both the initial application and when refreshed. Previously, Battle Fatigue was being incorrectly applied to the damage absorption shield a second time on refresh.

- Made additional fixes for an issue where players may be unable summon incantation bosses.

- Send Word to Phaoris: Players should now be placed into the correct phase after the cutscene, allowing the quest to be completed.

- Meta and blue gem sockets have been added to helmets awarded from Heroic Scenarios. Bonuses on the helmets have been reduced slightly to offset the addition of those sockets.

- Fixed an issue where binding a modifier key to a mouse button could cause the modifier key to become stuck.

- Greater Cache of Treasures, awarded for completing Normal difficulty Scenario should now properly have a chance to contain Motes of Harmony.
- Tyrannical Gladiator's Greatsword and Tyrannical Gladiator's Decapitator now give 6,195 PvP Power. This is in-line with other Season 13 ilevel 498 two-handed weapons.
- Ra'sha's Sacrificial Dagger can no longer be used while in Bizmo's Brawlpub or Brawl'gar Arena.
- (CN, TW, KR) Upgrades for items from Terrace of Endless Spring on 25-player normal difficulty now should correctly cost 250 Valor Points.

- Markers on the World Map for Barrens Commanders are now properly removed when defeated.
- Jessina the Blazing's Unstable Magma Totem now has an arming time after spawning and can no longer be hit by area-of-effect damage.
- Kor'kron Immolators and Kor'kron Earthshakers no longer use Corrupted Fire Nova or Corrupted Stoneskin totems.
- Kor'kron Motivators, Kor'kron Grunts, and Kor'kron Spotters now use Mortal Strike instead of Wild Cleave.

- Grandpa Grumplefloot's Bad Luckydos will no longer hop towards players that are not in the arena.

- Challenge Card quests can now be completed while in a raid. Note that credit for defeating a boss will not be shared amongst party or raid members.
- Anthracite will now reset properly when a player dies or leaves the arena and can no longer be attacked by players spectating the fight.
Bug Fixes
- Achievement: Waste Not, Want Not should now be properly awarded to players that satisfied all but the Cooldown Power-Up requirement.
- Sound effects should no longer be cut out in areas with a large number of ambient sounds.
- Fixed an issue where some sounds were not playing correctly during boss fights.
- Fixed an issue where the raid warning sound was not playing correctly.

- Players that die and release around the Seat of Knowledge area will now be provided with a Spectral Gryphon (Wisp for Night Elves) or a Spectral Wyvern; allowing them to fly back to their bodies.

- Conquest Quartermasters (Armsmaster Holinka and Roo Desvin) have been temporarily disabled while we work to resolve an issue with the Tyrannical Conquest achievement.
- Big Zokk Torquewrench has been found by a search party and brought back from their extended leave of absence.

- Deepwind Gorge has been temporarily removed from Rated Battlegrounds rotation while we work to resolve an issue affecting base capture.
Battlefield: Barrens
- Map markers for caravans that have been destroyed should now be properly removed from the world map.
- Overturned caravans should now despawn properly.

- Lei Shen will now always drop a Titan Runestone or Secrets of the Empire for players that are on the legendary quest line.
- Bouncing Bolts that do not impact with a player will no longer continue to bounce on Raid Finder difficulty.
- Mages who cast Alter Time while under the effects of Discharged Energy will no longer incorrectly retain the debuff.

- Fixed an issue where Protection Warriors are unable to receive bonus loot upon defeating Ra-den.

- Fixed an issue where players did not receive a Heroic Cache of Treasures for completing the first Heroic Scenario of the day if they had completed a Normal Scenario first.
- Fixed an issue with characters not shape-shifting back into the correct race while under the effects of an illusion spell enabling them to participate in an opposing faction's Scenarios.
- Blood in the Snow: General chat has been temporarily removed from the scenario to fix an issue affecting General chat in Dun Morogh. A proper fix for this is in the works in an upcoming patch.
- Secrets of Ragefire: Fixed an issue where certain situations could cause the Scenario to get stuck on Stage 3.
- Dungeons
- Resetting a Challenge Mode will now reset the cooldowns for Invisibility and Lesser Invisibility Potions.

- The dungeon should now properly require characters to be at least level 88 before allowing them to enter on Normal difficulty.

PvP
- Conquest Quartermasters (Armsmaster Holinka and Roo Desvin) should be available once again.
Conquest Quartermasters (Armsmaster Holinka and Roo Desvin) have been temporarily disabled while we work to resolve an issue with the Tyrannical Conquest achievement.- Big Zokk Torquewrench should once again be selling their wares to characters that have attained the rank of Legionnaire (Horde), Knight-Captain (Alliance), or above.
- Big Zokk Torquewrench has been found by a search party and brought back from their extended leave of absence.
Battlegrounds and Arenas
- Deepwind Gorge has been added back to the map rotation for Rated Battlegrounds.
- Deepwind Gorge capture points will now properly use the faction you have been assigned to when capturing mines.
Deepwind Gorge has been temporarily removed from Rated Battlegrounds rotation while we work to resolve an issue affecting base capture.
Items
- Meta and blue gem sockets have been added to helmets awarded from Heroic Scenarios. Bonuses on the helmets have been reduced slightly to offset the addition of those sockets.
- Meta and yellow gem sockets have been added to helmets created by combining Radical Mojo with a Latent Kor'kron Helm.
- Greater Cache of Treasures, awarded for completing Normal difficulty Scenario should now properly have a chance to contain Motes of Harmony.
- Quest rewards from Path of the Last Emperor should now be eligible to be upgraded for Valor Points.
- Champion's Purse should now always award a Champion's Seal again.
- Enchant Weapon - Spirit of Conquest is now soulbound.
- Enchant Weapon - Bloody Dancing Steel is now soulbound.
- Ra'sha's Sacrificial Dagger can no longer be used while in Bizmo's Brawlpub or Brawl'gar Arena.
- Salyin Battle Banner can no longer be used inside of raid instances. The item can still be used in regular dungeons and in non-instanced areas.
- Sun-Lute of the Phoenix King and Retinal Armors should no longer be scaling incorrectly in the level 85-89 bracket for Battlegrounds.
- Tyrannical Gladiator's Greatsword and Tyrannical Gladiator's Decapitator now give 6,195 PvP Power. This is in-line with other Season 13 ilevel 498 two-handed weapons.
- Xan'tish's Flute now should properly only able to be used once every 5 minutes and cannot be used while the character is dead.
- Fixed an issue where socket bonuses for a number of helmets were incorrectly giving a bonus to Resilience instead of PvP Power.
- (CN, TW, KR) Upgrades for items from Terrace of Endless Spring on 25-player normal difficulty now should correctly cost 250 Valor Points.
Battlefield: Barrens
- Alliance players that are hostile with the Steamwheedle Cartel should no longer be immediately attacked by Ratchet Bruisers when teleporting into Ratchet from Shrine of Seven Stars.
- Kor'kron Commanders are now non-faction specific multi-tap for all characters that attack them.
- Kor'kron Commanders are now immune to charms.
- Goblin Kor'kron Commanders' Throw Dynamite ability now deals 40% less damage.
- Shaman Kor'kron Commanders' Crackling Fury will now only increase in damage by 50% each jump, down from 200%.
- Warrior Kor'kron Commanders will now only cast Titanic Thunderclap when there are enemies within 10 yards.
- Some Kor'kron Commander abilities will no longer target or affect pets and totems.
- Markers on the World Map for Barrens Commanders are now properly removed when defeated.
- Jessina the Blazing's Unstable Magma Totem now has an arming time after spawning and can no longer be hit by area-of-effect damage.
- Kor'kron Immolators and Kor'kron Earthshakers no longer use Corrupted Fire Nova or Corrupted Stoneskin totems.
- Kor'kron Motivators, Kor'kron Grunts, and Kor'kron Spotters now use Mortal Strike instead of Wild Cleave.
- Fixed an issue where Overturned Caravans were despawning earlier than intended.
- Map markers for caravans that have been destroyed should now be properly removed from the world map.

Isle of Thunder
- Additional fixes for situations where players using incantations to summon bosses were receiving the error message "You can't do that right now."

Brawler's Guild
- Fixed a crash in the client affecting some players that occurred when Ahoo’ru used their Divine Circle ability.
- Challenge Card quests can now be completed while in a raid. Note that credit for defeating a boss will not be shared amongst party or raid members.
- Anthracite will now reset properly when a player dies or leaves the arena and can no longer be attacked by players spectating the fight.
- Grandpa Grumplefloot's Bad Luckydos will no longer hop towards players that are not in the arena.
- Razorgrin should no longer slowly regenerate health.
- Ro-Shambo should now properly display the UI for Rock, Paper, Scissors! if the character was casting a spell at the time.
Bug Fixes
- Achievement: Waste Not, Want Not should now be properly awarded to players that satisfied all but the Cooldown Power-Up requirement.
- Sound effects should no longer be cut out in areas with a large number of ambient sounds.
- Fixed an issue where some sounds were not playing correctly during boss fights.
- Fixed an issue where the raid warning sound was not playing correctly.
- Rocketway rockets in Azshara should no longer be despawning too quickly after being summoned.
