Currently, we expect to release World of Warcraft Patch 5.3: Escalation next week on Tuesday, May 21! Now that the patch is on the horizon, we’ve narrowed down some of the key things you might want to know before the big day:
Patch 5.3 is now available for testing on the Public Test Realms! This patch includes a brand new Battleground, a new arena, new scenarios, assorted bug fixes, and more. Please keep in mind that the PTR notes are not final, and a great deal could change before the final patch 5.3 release.
With the conflict heating up between the Horde and Alliance in Pandaria, both sides continue to seek the upper hand in this seemingly endless conflict. While the Alliance grows stronger amid the pressures of war, the Horde, under the weight of Garrosh’s command, continues to fracture.
Patch 5.3 introduces four new Scenarios and Heroic modes for six Scenarios including two previously released encounters. Whether you’re Horde or Alliance, you’ll be able to get in on the action with the use of the Dungeon Finder or by queuing (in the case of Heroics) with two of your friends.
The war between the Horde and the Alliance continues to escalate as both factions vie to claim Pandaria’s resources as their own. Deep within the Valley of the Four Winds, the mines of Deepwind Gorge serve as a Battleground where victory is measured not in fallen foes, but in gold. High atop the majestic mountains of Kun-Lai Summit, the Tiger’s Peak Arena—training ground of the Shado-Pan—tests the mettle of all who enter its perilous boundaries.
With the development of patch 5.3 in full swing, we’ve collected a series of PvP-focused questions from the community; the development team has the answers in this new edition of Ask the Devs.
